Whisper your secrets into my skin...by KelliComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment now.
I love butterflies so when one captures an interesting concept it captures my attention. Composition of subject and 'diagonal' lines are strong in this photo. The fingers emerge from the bottom left corner and the wings point towards the top right corner. Wonderful detail is captured with this Monarch Butterfly. To me the picture symbolizes Man getting 'in touch' with Nature. |

Sustenanceby grahamgatorComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment now.
Apples, bread and honey - all sweet and fulfilling foods. The lighting on the still life is fantastic. The flowers in the pitcher is a nice touch to this scene. I do have one small critique that would further strengthen the image appeal. The objects seem too spaced out - the left side in particular. Bringing in the bread loaf and the two apples a little closer to the pitcher would make for a tighter/woven still life presentation. Still a great shot and one that is a high above average shot. |

Ghost Horseby karenkComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment now.
The white horse really pops off the page - B&W treatment was an excellent choice for the composition. Love the sense of motion in the photo. The horse is presented as a powerful and graceful animal. |

Imagination blossoms when we daydream - that is the first thought I had when looking upon the image. Fabulous light that plays softly on the main subject and the flowers. It has an airy, dreamy feel which is perfect for the mood and feel of the image. Nicely captured and presented. |

Pinkby DistantColoursComment: My eyes follow the flow of green the undulates and ripples around the gazebo. Lines and shapes are very pleasing to the eye - it leads us to the main subject of the people and the gazebo. While the pink color of the woman's jacket that stands out in the sea of green it is the maze of green that captures my attention. Just one small critique - the scene just seemed a touch 'washed out' - just a little tweak to the shadows on Shadows/Midtones/Highlights brings in deeper shadows that adds more rich depth to the contrast and thus the colors as well. Still a great shot and well seen. |

the four seasonsby PennyStreetComment: Black and white tones are wonderful in this composition. Love the sense of movement in the photo. The flight of the pigeons is seen and 'felt' with the swift strokes that sweep across the composition. The title - Vivaldi's Four Seasons matches the swift lines and quick tempo of the flapping wings I see. |

Sublimeby The EskimoComment: Love the pale pastel hues and the feel of early morning in this composition. There is almost a rainbow of colors in the sky above the bridge - red, orange, gold, green and blue. Fog on the water adds a little touch of magic to the serene scene. Very beautiful. |

Traveler by ZoomdakComment: Very minimalist - simple and elegant in presentation. The flow of shapes and colors is pleasing to the eye. The single person in the composition poses the question - by which way shall he/she travel. Land, water, and the sky; the third option that is available to man with the invention of the airplane. But then there is the observer watching the scene the travels too into this scene. Our mode of travel: imagination. Great work, hope to see this in the top 10. |

Black & Whiteby gsalComment: Great juxtaposition here. The door opens and the man emerges from the dark interior - as if he is moving into the light. To me, it speaks that he is emerging from the dark past of how Blacks were once horribly treated and now moves out into the open, to freedom and new possiblities. I also like how the composition is not divided half and half but the white door occupies 60% - it is as if the light is overtaking the dark as how the dawn dispells the night. I see it as symbolic of new opportunities that are dawning as the door swings open. |

A Tale of Two Brothersby alexlkyComment: And it is a tall tale indeed:-) I see the figures on the hillside and I can imagine the story the one is weaving for the other who sits and listens. The story, like the two palm trees, grows more stretched with the length of the tale that unfolds. I imagine the tale is one the reaches for the sky - I really want walk up the hillside to listen in and hear this giant whopper of a fable:-) Nicely captured - as you can tell it capture my imagination:-) |
