Great eye to spot the scene. Love the tranquil morning feel with the soft haze that I see hanging on the treeline. I was going to suggest a different crop to increase the drama of the scene where the tree would cut at a diagonal from the top left corner to the bottom right corner....but then you would loose that lovely reflection of the mountains in the water.

Man sets sail, birds take flight. That is my first thought that struck me when I viewed the shot. The mast and riggings is what allows the sail to catch wind - and allows men to sail upon the waters (or at least early periods because now you have machine power). Birds catch the wind in their wings which allows them to fly. This is an interesting juxtaposition of man and nature. Love the soft hues and the silhouettes here - nicely captured.

You captured wonderful detail in the face of this gorilla. You even have some nice catchlights/glow in the eyes. This is a good shot that has vast potential to be a stunning shot just with changing two things. The first is crop - bring us/me closer to your subject. The backdrop does nothing for the composition -draw us in closer to this great primate. I would go for a square crop where the face fills 90 to 95% of the frame. Let your audience really peer into his eyes. Second, I think this could use a bit of levels & curves or contrast adjustment to get some depth to the shadows and highlights in the shot. They seem just a tad flat and I know the black tones could be deeper.

Now this must have been an impressive sight to see live. Those sweeping mountains are majestic. The photo is good but it needs some touch up work to make it shine. The contrast are a bit flat in the photo as it now stands. I think if you up the contrast and played with levels and curves to get a more dynamic contrast between the light and shadows you will see a dramatic improvement in the depth and detail. Also I think that this would be more stunning in B&W especially if you get some dramatic contrasts between highlights and shadows.

The B&W tones are great. The juxtaposition of the two elements here makes an interesting visual commentary on life. The man in the backdrop has come down the stairs and has the has his hand to his head. That emotive gesture could be a sign of despair or an expression of tiredness (wiping the brow after being winded). Nonetheless he has undergone a 'decline' - climbing down the stairs. The cat on the other hand is in a relaxed state but also is in a decline. The cat's position lying on the car is facing on the decline. Perhaps the 'life' of the cat is on the decline as well with advanced years.

Normally I would think the rail is detracting but I see that you made the rail something that 'works with' to support the composition. The rail comes out from the bottom left corner and extends off to the right to act like a leading line. It helps to lead and keep the eye focused on the main subject which is the bird. I think it is a good shot but it just needs a little boast in the contrast to get some richer colors in the sunset and maybe some levels and curves to boost the whites of the crested bird to make it pop more visually off the backdrop.

Coming back to comment and bump up.

Color and details are great. You captured some great details in that I can see the textures on the beak and the 'pitted/ripples' in the white patch area near the the eye. The lower 1/4 of the shot is not in as sharp focus I think that you could crop that out and made this look like a widescreen shot. Not only would it take away the soft focus area but the long rectangle shape of the composition would complement match that of the long head of the crane.

Holy moly these insects are huge! I knew about Weta's from the logo for Weta Workshop, but the size - well that is as close as I would want to be to one. You captured some nice sharp detail from the 'spikes' on the back legs to the head and antennae. My only critique is that the ground plane is too busy and dark in tones to really allow this bug to stand out from the backdrop. It looks like you may have been holding the piece of bark with the Weta on it - it might have been better to raise it up and take a shot with the sky as the backdrop. The sky with it's lighter tones would have allowed the dark tones of the insect to stand out and contrast more. Although....you may not have wanted to move it too much for it might take off in your direction :-)

Love the B&W tones in this composition; they are very bold, dynamic and crisp. I think it is interesting that we see just an empty suit, hanging and waiting. Usually one hears the story of the woman waiting for the day for Mr. Right and her Wedding day. Here there is the tux suit. The gent is absent but the empty suit symbolizeshis waiting for Mrs. Right to come along. I like that the screen/scroll work right behind the right sleeve is the shape of half a heart. To me that detail adds to the symbolic meaning his heart is not complete without the missing half.

Very clever turning this street picture of people and transportation into a study of lines and shapes. The two people are the leaning lines of the title while the bicycle wheels are the circle o's of the title. B&W was the better choice because the bold contrast between light and shadow can be accented/played up more. Color would not have been as effective in calling attention to the lines and shapes here. My one critique is that I think there is a bit too much negative space on the top and the bottom. I think it would draw the viewer in much more and have the main subjects be more of the main focus if it was a square crop.
