Composition/Lighting : I believe you chose the perfect composition for this, this is the perfect way to show off such beautiful glass. it is centrally framed, which strongly brings the eye to the subject, especially w/ the background you chose. well done. now, the sharpness. with something that has nothing to focus on but one piece of "eyecandy" if you will, it should definitely be as sharp as possible. having a more powerful backlit setup or even underneath lighting would have given you more lighting i believe.
Challenge : This was a tough challenge, with some great competition. overall i believe you did well. w/ just a few tweaks in your lighting, it would make this a better picture. w/ as beautiful as a figure as you have here, i would definitely reshoot and try as many different lighting angles as you can until you find that one golden one, maybe mess around w/ some different color backgrounds. find the one that sings to you.
Conclusion : This is really a great image. Great job. you should be proud of this, and the potential it has. there were some really great comments left for you by other members, so take these all in consideration, and along w/ your already great photography skills you will continue to get better.
Keep on shootin!
Good luck on your future challenges:)

Composition i believe the composition in this could use some work, specifically the placement of the light source. if you put the bamboo where there light is, on the right third line, and moved the light out of frame, i think it would really help the flow of this photo. great shot nonetheless, very nice.
Lighing i think this was a very well planned out lighting process, but the blowout with the light bulb is quite harsh. any light source that's exposed for 4 seconds will blow out, maybe using a f2.8 or as small an aperture as possible would allow you to use a better shutter speed and not blow the light out, and still get the detail in the bamboo. i still think it'd be better w/ the light out of frame though. but well done.
Challenge This was a tough challenge, with some great competition. as your first challenge, you definitely met the guidelines and followed the rules well. do not be let down with your score whatsoever. for this to be your first challenge, and to score a 5.3436 (or 5+ at that) this is very impressive. great job, and you should be happy with this. you'll grow as a photographer from this site, trust me.
Conclusion This is really a great image. Looking at your portfolio, this is one of many great submissions DPC can expect from you. You have some really nice work, and have a great camera (i have the same one, so i'm partial, but with good reasonings :) ) Overall a great job, and great focus on this one.
Keep on shootin!
