Pretty Pollyby Mr_PantsComment: Unfortunately there are too many complementary pairs here to demonstrate the effect of one colour contrasted against its opposite. If the foliage behind the bright red bird had been the bright green that it is at the bottom, that would have been a great demonstration of complementary colour contrast.
Nevertheless, this is a nice photo of a colourful bird. |

red and blueby slonkoComment: Fantastic shot of the bird's plumage!
Unfortunately there are too many complementary pairs here to demonstrate the effect of one colour contrasted against its opposite. If the bird's eye and beak could have shown more orange against the blue feathers on its head, that would have been a great demonstration of complementary colour contrast.
Nevertheless, this is a great photo of a colourful bird. |

Bloomingby shadeeuaComment: Too many complementary pairs here to demonstrate the effect of one colour contrasted against its opposite. If you could have shot the blue butterfly against the yellow flower and then cropped tightly to eliminate any red or green, or else if you had shot just the red and green flowers, you would have had a better demonstration of complementary colour contrast. |

my babyby wmewme2000Comment: The background of this photo needs to show more violet tones to provide complementary colour contrast against the yellows. Nice car! |

Wildflowersby sibelingComment: Your photo would have demonstrated the effects of complementary colour contrast if you had changed your angle to show the violet flower in the middle against the goldenrod, and then cropped tightly to show just the violet and the yellow colours. |

Kids Love the Colors and Shapesby rjpatComment: Too many complementary pairs... take out the blue and the orange and your arrangement of child's toys does demonstrate complementary colour contrast.
Nice shot of the toys though!

Complementary.Colors.by TejComment: Great closeup of the beautifully patterned butterfly against the yellow flower. Unfortunate that the complementary colour to the green leaves would have been a violet-tinged red. If the leaves were more of a blue to blue-violet tone, this fine photo would also have demonstrated the complementary colour contrast. |

black and pink how cool!!!!by gtp1164Comment: In order to show complementary colour contrast, the center of this flower should have been a blue-green similar to the colour of the stem. Nice closeup shot and good composition arrangement. I like the contrast of the spiky pink petals against the black background, but it's not complementary contrast. |

Illuminated Equilibriumby theantonComment: The red and the dull green can be considered complementary colours, but the yellow light destroys the effect. Great composition, nice visual balance, but the LED needs to be green to demonstrate complementary colour contrast. |

earth waterby drz01Comment: The predominant colours in this photo are green tones. To demonstrate complementary contrast, you would have needed more red-orange colours in the flowers. However, if you had changed your angle and shot the goldfish with the bronze of the statue or the green waterlily leaves, you would have had a fine demonstration of complementary colour contrast. |
