Too many complementary pairs here to demonstrate the effect of one colour contrasted against its opposite. This is a great demonstration of a primary colour scheme with red and blue and yellow.

Wow, nice closeup shot! Too bad that the green in the background destroys the complementary colour contrast of the yellow and the violet tones.
If you had shot from a different angle to get just the flowers and then cropped to show only the yellow and the purple, this would have been a great demonstration of the effect of complementary colour contrast.
