Sammiby SkamalComment: Not a clear enough response to the challenge criteria for me. A cute picture, and technically sound, but not very relevant. |

By the seaby GautiComment: A very good entry to the challenge, this photo also manages to illustrate the ROT two times. Lighting and exposure are also really good, quite a feat considering the complexity of the exposure. I really like the underexposure of the rock face. The only possible improvement would be if the people weren't in the picture, as they distract from the scene more than they add to it. Good job though. |

Hannibal Nectarby lshlesComment: This picture has a lot going for it. Great color, great exposure. The DOF (one of the hardest things to get, I think) is nearly spot on.
The problem for me? This photo is a good example of the application of the rule of thirds, but if I didn't know the title of the challenge, I wouldn't be able to discern it from your picture. Yes, it's an example of ROT (and a good one) but it's not THE rot. Hopefully that makes sense. |

black, green and yellow rule in my gardenby sansComment: The color is very vibrant in this photo, which I'm personally a sucker for. I do wish for a little more DOF, so that the entire flower that the bee is on could be in focus. It meets the challenge criteria, though the aditional "stuff" in the picture dillutes from the point. Yes, it is a good example of the principle of the rule of thirds, but it doesn't really highlight it as some other entries have done.
Other than that, there's nothing I can complain about on this photo, and a lot to like. Very well done, espicially considering the level of cooperation you probably got from the model. :) |

"Rule thru the Three's"by sfarrell23Comment: Very cleverly done. Masterful use of all the techniques of photography, from lighting to DOF to color and exposure. All of it, in one picture. Great job! |

Lighthouse on the Hillby ShutterPugComment: Meets the challenge twice in one photo, great job! The colors really pop out in this picture, which I'm a sucker for. The focus is nice and sharp, DOF appropriate, the border, the title, everything is great with this photo. Wonderful job! |

An Eggshell As I First Discovered It This Morningby dixileopardComment: Meets the challenge perfectly. DOF seems to be everyone's nemisis in this challenge, I wish there was a little less of it here. The title is good.
My only problem with this picture is that the egg shell is slightly overexposed, especially on the top side. One stop less (or a little more messing around in PS) could bring the entire photo to a more plesing level, at least for me. |

CLOUDY SIDE OF THE MOONby LaSofiComment: Meets the challenge rules well. The color is nice. Everything about this photo is nice.
What would make it exceptional? Focus and sharpness. The exceptional photos in this challenge all have a single visual element in stark, sharp focus. This photo is missing that and leaves the viewer hunting for "Waldo," that thing you know must be there, but you just can't find. |

Wonderby dwolffComment: Meets the challenge criteria well.
A pretty photo, with the blue sky so vibrant, and the baloon in such sharp contrast.
Critique: Overexposed. I wish the top right side of the ballon wasn't washed out. A solid attempt. |

Bands of goldby stphqComment: I appreciate what you're going for, but this is just too cliche for me. I think we've got 2 or three of these in our wedding album. :)
Also, the high reflectivity on her ring reflects the flash, photographer, room, etc. Also, the flash is too harsh and has washed out her hand. |
