Candid Motherhoodby stare_at_the_sunComment: Any photo that makes me laugh out loud gets a top ranking from me. This is just so true, the characters are SO expressive, it's just top notch. My only question is if the sepia actually adds anything to the picture... it might look better as a pure B&W or in color.
I think someone stole my son and put him in your picture. :) Great job! |

Mom The Taxiby TommyMoe21Comment: I love the "texture" of this photo. You can almost feel their hair on the monitor. :) |

unconditional loveby SeanachaiComment: I do like the (almost) square format of this photo, combined with the B&W it reminds me of the good old medium format days. The only improvement I could think of would be to have wiped off the baby's mouth first. :) Great job. |

A Mother A Super Heroby ColeyComment: Trampoline? Great image. Too bad there couldn't have been a bright sunny day for some interest in the sky. Top 1/3 of the challenge IMO. |

A Helping Handby BudComment: This is really nice, and in my top 1/3rd. Constructive criticism: I would have preferred a little more exposure on the mother. |

Waiting for the Doctorby gurlwithapenComment: I imagine you'll get some contrary opinions to mine, but I like the color cast. It adds to the whole institutional, hosiptal feel. Great job. |

Mourning a young motherby kteachComment: This is a really nice photo, and I'm giving it a high vote. The only thing keeping me from giving a 9 or 10 is that I think the arm is awkwardly placed. I would prefer the arm gone totally, or maybe if the person was crouched down in profile, facing the headstone.
It's a great shot though, I love the desaturation, it adds emotion. |

Sweet Mother of Pearl's Handsby jsasComment: First, this isn't a photograph that strongly emotes "mother." I get the tie in with mother of perl, but it's not very emotive. I don't really know what the flower petals have to do with anything, except that they are colorful and pretty.
Second, this photo looks like it could use some different processing. The edges of the fingers on the left side are rather jaggedy. I'm not sure if that's from over sharpening, or JPEG compression, but either way it detracts. |

GothGirl83by JudiComment: Robbed, Robbed she was!
Great shot, a 10 from me. Suprised it didn't rank higher. Many probably didn't care for the blur, but I love it! This is a killer image in my mind. Great job. |
