:: Patterns are in the Eye of the Beholder ::by shamerComment: This is a really neat shot to look at; I honestly have no idea what it is, but it's a nice artistic photo. I like the use of two primary colors (plus shades of these) in the gold and the black. Really neat shot. |

Snowy Metersby RebeccaComment: Neat photo on the whole (nice "found" pattern). I would have liked to have seen a bit more attention to composition either in the shot or in the processing (a bit more cropping of the top, which seems to detract from the shot for my eye), and a bit more brightness to the color differences (especially as there are only three main colors in the image). |

Grass Patternby ankursomaniComment: Really neat shot, well executed (not a shot I could have pulled off, I'm guessing). Excellent contrast between the lower, greyer part and the upper bluer part. Good use of color. Would have rated it higher had the pattern been more apparent (with this use of "pattern" any photo has it, as patterns are everywhere; I like to see a bit more focus on the actual pattern rather than asking the viewer to accept that a pattern is there just because). Well done. |

The Window to the Outsideby HoochieComment: Interesting subject matter (good choice), but I would have preferred it cropped a bit more to not show the bottom right corner. The wide depth of field works well, though, and I really like the buildings outside that you almost don't see at first. Nicely done. |

Heat Patternsby crazedfost78Comment: Interesting selective focus, and interesting pattern, but the bright area is a bit too bright for my tastes, and the loss of focus to both back and front is also a bit extreme for me. Nice shot on the whole, though. |

Honeycombby shedonistComment: Interesting shot, with interesting use of shadow (I doubt I could have pulled this shot off). Nice image. |

A Clean Canvasby Baron152Comment: A generally nice macro shot, though it looks a bit over-exposed on the right (this probably supposed to be reflection of a light sorce, but it's too much for my eye). Composition is pretty good on this shot. |

Jurassic ammonite fossilby mch_nzComment: I like the subject matter here, but have trouble figuring out where I'm supposed to focus; some of this is depth of field that might have been broader, allowing for more of the shot to be in focus (as my eye wanders to the bottom and it goes out of focus, it loses something for me). Generally nice shot, though. |

In Stitchesby izadoodleComment: Very nice macro shot, good detail, nice depth of field, well composed, and looks pretty fluid to me (the eye moves naturally across it). |

3 x 3 x 3by bgrinbergComment: Nice pattern you discovered here, but shouldn't it be 3x3x3x3 (3 birds by 3 birds by 3 birds by 3 wires)? I generally like the photo, though I would have liked a bit more cropping at the stop (even if it made it a bit shorter in height), to put the line of birds nearer the rule of thirds line (notice I said nearer, not necessarily "on"). Still, nice shot, well executed. |
