Ladiesby MelethiaComment: I'd be tempted to whiteout the "wo" below each of those symbols and see what happens. |

You had to try regardless |
Except I didn't. But nice try removing the major element from that sentence, which proves otherwise. That's better editing than the photo.

Perhaps. I don't make a habit of reading other's comments to formulate my own least of which comments from ribbon winning photos. The only reason I read jaysonmc's was because I saw your smug avatar in the comments. I'm glad that you now find it all obvious. |

A Tight Squeeze by Samantha_TComment: Interesting cell animation effect. I like that almost nothing is the correct proportion (the jar covers, the room as it relates to the people, etc). Editing wise, I think you did a better job on yourself than the guy. The way you laid out his body it doesn't seem like his face should be pressed up against the glass. The back of his head perhaps, but not the front of his face. Then again maybe that just makes it more absurd. |

The Traveller by h2Comment: Originally posted by h2: Originally posted by jaysonmc: It's a good concept but looks too fake/photoshopped to me. Now granted, I couldn't even do this is photoshop, so I respect the effort here. I like those birds and the poise of the man. But the boat is the oomph of the image. Giving you a 6, but this is 10 material for the DPC crowd if you master those PS skills. |
Thanks for your comment on my entry. However, I don't understand what your saying; does it mean the boat is too absurd or did I make a bad photoshop job? |
I can't speak for jaysonmc but the main thing that jumps out at me as "fake" is the boat's impact on the water. There's no trailing wake left behind. Now granted it's not a speed boat but there should still be some residual disturbance left behind by the boat. "As is" it looks as if the boat was dropped straight down on to the water. |

Cooper's Hawk with Road killby ladpupmoeComment: Had this been perfectly centered I'd probably accuse you of setting it up. The fact that it's off kilter validates its authenticity. However, beyond that it simply works to tell the story. The hawk swoops in and before it can fully enter the frame it already has hold of its prey. It's both documentary and art.

The Recycled Manby Tommy_MacComment: Cool idea. While it's probably funnier the way you did it you probably lost a lot of points by not pulling off the actual illusion (i.e. his insides appear on the outside and not inside his chest cavity). If you really wanted to accomplish that then look no further than the opening of your nostril. It shows everything you need to do to pull off the illusion of depth. Got Milk?by escapetoozComment: I bet the "where's the beef?" slogan is kicking itself for not being created at the advent of the internet age. |
