lonelyby DetrelasComment: Suffers from some technical problems. The flowers seem slightly out of focus (worst on the left). The choice of B&W doesn't add too much because so much detail is lost in the flowers. I also don't understand the significance of the frame. Finally, the picture is crooked. You did get the concept of personification though. 5 |

Piercedby banmornComment: I can see the face, but it doesn't do too much else for me. The technicals are good (in focus, etc), the composition is slightly enhanced by the diagonals, but the overall image is unexciting because of the majority of bland bark areas. 5 |

Tropical Phallic Rootby dmmmdComment: Work on making your pictures bigger; as close to 640 pixels on one axis. Those tend to do better in challenges. That being said, it's an interesting subject, although I'm not fond of the purely "physical" personifications. I'd rather it have tried to capture an abstract or emotional concept. "The plant, well endowed as he was, strutted around the forest like a bull in heat..." |

A Worried Lookby dw_photoComment: The OOF plug is a good compositional touch, but I'd rather not have the other plug which is already in. |

A Smirking Man Sporting a White Capby TheLittleIslandComment: I see the smirk which I think is reasonable as far as challenge met. The composition leaves a bit to be desired. Why is it crooked? On purpose? if so, to what effect? I think the leaves also detract and would have removed them. The highlight on the hydrant is also unfortunate. |

I'm Getting Fullby kaylaComment: Salt is really hard to expose properly. It looks blown to me with no detail. I think the grains on the mirror are really interesting because you can see exactly where the DOF was. 5 |

Échecsby Marc923Comment: I can't really see the personification here. (I had to look up the word...chess, I believe). However, I think it's technically and compositionally an excellent picture so I gave it a 5. |

a mechanic faceby LionsitalyComment: I can see the face, but not much more. These pictures fit the challenge on some level, but don't get the high scores (in my opinion). The focus and cropping are on though, which is good. 5 |

Portrait of a Grandmotherby kmbr2001Comment: I can see the grandmother, but I don't feel it does too much more for me. The technicals aren't too bad. The dynamic range is well done. 5 |

Preparing to Fallby JeffryZComment: This is one where you need the title to convey the idea. Once read though, the picture is understood (not all are even getting that far). The contrast of the colors works well. 6 |
