Beautiful pet portrait! The lighting is just perfect! The vertical white lines above the dog's head do tend to draw the eye up and I think that the image would be even stronger if they were cloned out. Very nice job on this!

Oh...this one is great too and has a very different feel from your free study entry. Whereas the other is rather tranquil, I find this image to have an almost sinister quality. My heart beats a little faster when I look at this one. I must say, I'm feeling very inspired to hike about looking for lone benches in the woods.

Outstanding portrait...I love everything about this image. It would be interesting to know if you instructed him to look somber, or if you just happened to catch the moment. Sometimes I get my best and most emotive shots of my kids when they've just had enough of me sticking the camera in their faces. The B&W is beautiful.
