Outstanding photo. What I really like is the fact it was taken with an old out-dated(by DSLR standards today) 8mp Canon 20D. No offense intended. I just find it humorous especially on a site where people tend to go overboard looking for new technology to save/improve their photography instead of learning to master the old technology and the skills required to take a superb photo. IMO this is just as good as anything that could be taken with a 21mp 5D MKII if not better. Great timing, capture and PP.

Awesome shot Sandy. Just a little advice when shooting in the snow, bump the exposure compensation up about 1/3-2/3 depending on how bright it is. This will take care of the greyness in the scene and leave you with crisp white snow and clouds.

Being a longtime Texan, I knew winter wonderlands like this existed, I just had no idea how cool it would be to be IN one :)

I grew up in Texas and moved away when I was 30 to live in NE Iowa. Believe me when I say winter wonderlands are awesome to visit but they get old really fast when you have deal with them year after year. I still love to sit and watch it snow because the flakes are so mesmerizing and delicate but I hate cleaning it up afterwards.
