L Girl On Her Way Downby marmalade1121Comment: Thank you for your comment.
I wanted to repay the favor and comment on one of yours. Like everyone else, I LOVED your Moody Broody Beauty entry but I also really liked this one. I love the expression on her face and the black and white works very well as does the soft focus.
There are two small distracting things in the photo that could get cropped out (in my own humble opinion :) A bit of the left end side of the photo and a tiny sliver on the right side (the left hand corner is hard to figure out and took my eyes away from the main image and the top most right hand corner also distracted my eye...). I do like the empty space on the right side of the photo though!
Very well done! She'll be happy to have that photo when she grows up!!! |

Bath ~ Roomby MatthewComment: Great concept and execution!!! the composition works well although placing the tub away from the center might create more eye movement for the viewer. Well done and nice contrast!! |

Emptinessby nico_blueComment: I love the subdued colors and the mild shadows. You can really imagine yourself in this room. The composition is amazing as well (the lone clock, the middle chair abutting the one for the lefty, the paint on the board, even the black corner works!!!)
The only thing I can think of would maybe to tilt the image so that the top line above the blackboard is straight (I think either straight or much more tilted would work best....but this is such a minor detail!)
Very well done!!!!! Hope you get a ribbon!!! |

Flame Stallionby ArtysteComment: Your photo caught my eye!
It really does look like a stallion! Since this is not a challenge, you could burn/darken the log and the bit of flame on the left-most side since these two things distract a bit from the main image. IMHO, because this is a somewhat sureal photo, no need to "anchor" it with a recognizable part such as a log...
Great contrast and color. well done! |

Solitudeby kearockComment: I really like the "feel" of the ground. The red letters almost seem to spell out "HELP" and beg further notice from the viewer.
The lighting also works well, coming from an imaginary window perhaps... The image does convey the idea of solitude but I'm curious as to how other angles might work as well? A low to the ground angle perhaps or an even higher one... A higher shooting angle might create an even deeper disconnect with the chair and all that it stands for?
Nice composition and lighting. PS: I also liked the first one you posted for this thread... Great subdued and yet somehow vibrant colors! |

Black and Whiteby raflimaComment: Wonderful compostion and depth of field! I love the zebra in the background looking at the viewer! But the foreground is what makes it textured...and it's well done also. A bit more of the spiky hair on the left side might have added even more texture? |

Grapefruit Deconstructedby DrAchooComment: I like the original subject and the simple and uncluttered composition. A different orientation of the light might have made the flesh of the fruit look more transluscent and appealing? Great texture though! |

Lips #1by skylenComment: great close up and texture! You can even see and feel the texture on the gums and enamel. Well done, you made a hard photo to take look so effortless (great lighting, colors, focus...). Good luck! |
