Nice balance of objects. The saturation is a little distracting. Maybe would be better with some subdued false tones. The light is also a little flat. Try some diffused lighting off to one side, and not so bright.

The shadow is a little distracting, but it does add balance to the composition. I'd prefer to see more of the pencil. It looks like someone who's been caught in the side of a photo, with a rabbit-in the headlights expression, because they didn't bother to smile, because they thought they weren't in the shot. OK, maybe I'm overanalysing here. :)

Great shot. The green background is very smooth, and contrary to what I would have thought, it actually makes the skin tones look very real. Beautiful crisp shot.
