well... I was a carpenter for many years and even though i recognize the difficulty in handcrafting something this shot to me is unappealing. The light is a little harsh and the shadow on the hand make the hand ehhh I am not sure how to put this but.... i guess too dark.? Finally the theme was metal and the image is primarily composed of wood and flesh with the metal dull and unpronounced. Oh yeah one more thing the chisel you are using seems a wee bit on the large size to be carving a man shape.

I hope this helps a wee bit- sorry if that was harsh.

very nice shot and yes "point of view is the key". It took me a few moments to figure this out because of the shadow but alas I did and alas I may too try to recreate this just out of curriosity.

I think this is a great shot I gave you a 7. This is a personal pet peave but you do not need to use the word obsolete in your title - we all know what the challenge entails. If this wasn't such a good photo I would have given you a lower score based solely on the title. Good luck with this one - I do like it a lot.

this is a neat photo. I would like to see the color version or a B&W version to tone down the white of the foliage. other than that great! 7
