The roads we takeby LevTComment: Charming and classic.
Bumping this one up. It is just so human without humans.

a place for reflectionby ManicComment: Yes. I can put myself there in that chair and breathe a bit. Perhaps nod off as if I have escaped the turmoil and waves. The hills shelter me from wifi and the daily whining and noise. I'm here. Fireproof. Relaxed. In a chair that has survived a generation and will survive another. Am I in heaven? Or am I just taking am introspective break from reality? How did I get here? I'm not really concerned with that right now. No reason to be concerned. Just reflecting.
So even though there is a bit of a contrived nature to the perfect composition and juxtaposed elements, it does have a purpose. And one I thank you for.
I'm pretty sure this magical composition will find friends here. |

Dreamtimeby MichaelCComment: Yes. Dreamy. Even finding real context here is a challenge. The colors are wonderful. The wonder is inescapable. Google earth meets an Ambien martini.

'Mericaby RKTComment: The composition is stunning and exciting. But this image comes to the top for me more because it is somewhat unique to so-called first-world people and it is captured here so perfectly. The machines are the paintbrushes. Sketching a fleeting cloud across a clear summer sky. A puppet show that instills more awe than shock. The rumbles cause people to go to their windows - not to their basements. The audience is thankful to be on this side of the equation.
THe framing a treatment work really well. The monochromatic tone keeps it focused on the composition and subjects rather than the colors which we can imagine unconsciously if we so desire.

apocalypseby tangueraComment: I can't put my finger on who this reminds me of.
My first thought was Cindy Sherman but I'm sure it is someone else.
Anyhow, there are some great subtle details here. The seemingly dirty foot. The spotlight. The obviously strange fall ... or dance ... or, dream. FOr being so simple, it is well worth a long look. |
