Whoa...did you have a psychic vibe about the next challenge? I could picture this on a graduation greeting card. Perhaps later use some advanced editing to dodge the rose a tad. Nice rich yellow.

I know you're gonna get a lot of this, but still life doesn't entail the "non-still" (people). As a stand alone image...very sad with all of the garbage. Lighting is harsh (not that you could have controlled that at this specific moment in time), casting deep shadow on one side of the boy's face, and blowing out select pices of garbage, making it standout more than the boy. (the greens in this image are wonderfully vivid)

great title...I like the smoke still coming from the candle...though then is that really "still" life? :) Cropping seems a bit off...almost lots of lines & curves that don't seem to compliment each other.
