Get Wellby DrakeComment:
Great water picture! Very nice colors and composition. (clap clap clap) Just a beautiful picture all around. It doesn't say Get Well though. Sorry. This would be a great "Thinking of You" card maybe because those images can be more vague.

We wish you two a nice Honeymoon!!!by carodaniComment: *Critique Club*
I am so jealous! I wish I had your lens!! I am getting a camera like yours though! Anyway...enough about me and my envy.
The details are amazing and I like the tones too. Needs more negative space. The square crop doesn't help the image at all. The one major reason this picture did not get a high score from me was because it is a moon. I love the title, very cute and funny. I bet you have a great sense of humor. But, I just don't think that I would purchase a card for a couple with a moon on it unless they were scientist or something to that nature.

For Motherby dartompkinsComment: * Critique Club *
Great picture! The sepia tones are wonderful. Gives you a nice warm and fuzzy feeling. I really like everything about it so I am sorry I am the one to critique it. If I have to say something, it would be the mothers facial tones. They are a little blown out, but I don't think that it hurts your photo. Great job and good luck in future challenges.

Skyward Mapleby MarkComment: *Critique Club*
Sometimes when I shoot for a challenge I dismiss the first idea that pops in my head. I do this because more than likely it was also the first idea that someone else thought of too. In challenges like these on DPC, there are soooo many entries you really need something unique to do well. After so long voters get tired of the same image over and over. I think that is the main reason for your score.
Your comments: "I simply walked up to a maple tree, lined up the sun behind it, and snapped this shot. pretty simple" Maybe that says it all right there. woutji has some great suggestions. Take time to think about what you want to photograph. How do I want it to look?
When taking a picture of a common item, make your picture so different it is like seeing it for the first time.
I hope this was helpful

The Lookby Toniann220Comment: out of all of your people pictures, I like this one the best. The only thing I would change is what you are laying your head on. Is that the carpet? I would also change the signature stamp. A classic black signature with no shadow would look more professional, IMO. |

"Missing You"by ShannonLeeComment: *Critique Club*
I like how the chairs turn to the right and get visually smaller and smaller and smaller. I like the black and white image. I even like the contemporary feel to it. The chairs are very modern and make a statement. Not sure if that statement is "missing you" however. The building in the background is somewhat dissracting. The picture is intersting in b&w but it does give a "cold" feeling. Not a warm and fuzzy miss you kind of vibe, ya know? Not sure if I would buy this card at a shop. Overall, I think that the picture is interesting and different, just maybe not the best choice for this challenge. Good luck in future challenges.

Friendshipby twm122Comment: *Critique Club*
I am not crazy about the pink tones but they work really good with the girls. The idea of friendship is captured very well in this photo. I can remember my friends and I doing the very same thing! Brings back great memories.
There are just three things that I didn't really like about the image. One is that both of the girls are cut off mid-back. Two, is that it was shot on a bed. I think that this would have been cuter if they were infront of a mirror or vanity. Three, one little girl is putting on makeup while the other isn't doing anything. She is not active in the photo. Maybe if you had the girl on the left putting makeup on the other girl it would have been better. Just a few suggestions. I hope they were helpful.
