Hmmm... I'm torn on this one. It really should be a great photo, but it's missing the "bang" I expected from the thumbnail. Maybe a bit more USM and contrast? I'm not sure. A really neat photo idea. I'm interested to find out where you took this.

A really well taken photo of a really unattractive subject! I'm not trying to offend you, by the way. I think your photo is well-done. Nicely exposed. It's just not really a terribly enticing mushroom ;-)

I really like this. I like the slightly soft look and hope you don't get voted down because of it (DPC voters do seem to like ultra sharp). I think a touch more DOF to bring all the strands into focus would be better.

Funny! You really shouldn't award yourself the "brown", though. It's bad luck! A nice idea that woudl be nicer without the light glaring right smack in the middle.
