Starry Nightby elsapoComment: Great outtake!! Would have been tough for me to choose which to enter, but who can argue with a ribbon in hand? :-)
Very nice shot! Love the color/lighting on you, and the starfield is great! |

Going Grungeby SJCarterComment: Nice grunge effect! My suggestions for the grunge photo would be to mess your hair up and find a shirt that isn't so nice. Maybe a T-Shirt with a flannel or un-buttoned button down shirt over the T. Maybe try some shots not looking directly at the camera as well. |

PICT0018.JPGby stare_at_the_sunComment: I like this shot. Lots of colors along the tracks, and the curve really makes the shot. Nice perspective. |

TreesOverlook.jpgby rjksteschComment: You look like you're almost at the same elevation as the clouds! Makes for an uncommon perspective. Nice exposure as well. |

SheepInLight.jpgby rjksteschComment: This is a beautiful scene. I also like the dramatic effect (some sort of gothic glow type thing??). Only complaint is it looks like some of the sheep's hind quarter has lost detail and has a funky yellow color. Maybe some cloning from another portion of the sheep to add back the texture could be done? |

OverlookWall.jpgby rjksteschComment: I agree with Justin, this image has a lot more potential in post processing. Obviously, you wanted the dramatic sky as part of the shot, and making sure you didn't blow the highlights has left the rest under-exposed. Try using a soft edge or gradient mask and boosting everything but the highlights in the clouds. There are some brighter areas on the landscape where the light is peeking through the clouds that could really pop with some tweaking. It's a good capture of a great vantage point. |

moutain viewby tazzaComment: I like that the rock formation on the left adds some depth, but it's so much brighter than the rest of the image, that it draws attention to itself rather than simply framing. If it were me, I would make that a selection, and create a mask from the selection and multiply it to darken that section down (also drop saturation quite a bit). Keeps the texture, but makes it blend more with the rest of the frame. Just a thought.. its a beautiful scene in any case. |
