first you did get an above average score. second you received two favs.
I did not participate, nore did I vote in this challenge.
On the image itself.
Humorous, comp ok, but maybe a bit tighter header. whites need tweeking. too washed out, should have more texture to be convincing. Blacks seem just ok. color flat, light ok, bg should be wrinkle free.ok shadows on face giving dimensional value. expression of model nice giving emotional value. overall the picture could be better. maybe bring the shutter speed faster, or open up the iris.
Your work is usually outstanding. This example is not one of them.
just my thoughts. Message edited by author 2006-05-24 09:28:46. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

THIS is an excellent SPORTS ACTION capture.
Keep up the good work. |
| 05/23/2006 06:56:31 PM | Lighthouse Keeperby PaigeComment: It's too bad.
You definetly have talent, but you had to go against the grain.
This could of done so much better in the challenge quidelines.
Don't get me wrong, this is a great pix, but maybe for a sillouette challenge.
I hope you do much better next time. I hated to downgrade this pix on a mere technicality.
Please have this pix available for a print, and I also agree, take out the 'pi' looking element near the sun.
Good luck. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

You seem to have potential.
Please, please, please, read the rules, ask questions, google what you don't know, ask a pro, get a book, something for christ sake. I hated down grading this pix for a mere technicality. |

This image would of done so much better with a little more forethought on your part.
As a viewer, I must be convinced of your intentions or all is to waste.
Good luck in the future. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 05/22/2006 04:39:10 PM | Surflessby frestepiComment: In the future, as a photographer, you must have forthought to what you are trying to sell the viewer.
Just like dating, first impressions are everything. Next, you have to convince the viewer to take a second look.
Convinceing the viewer is everything, else the image is lost.
In this image, a surf board, or wave board, or boogie board, hell, even a swim suit would of faired better than nothing. Think props.
Don't give up. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

It's too bad this was not some sort of a landscape challenge, or a long shot challenge.
The image is good. Please keep up the good work. Please try again. |
