Local Artist....by DigipixerComment: This is a photo I wouldn't be surprised to see in a newspaper. I don't think it's front page material, per se, but I could see it further back in the local or arts pages. I like the way there is some completed work and some work in progress. The only thing that would dramatically help this pic would be the woman's face shown a little better, where she would be a little more easy to recognize if you saw her in the grocery store. Good job - Inspzil |

Circuit Jumbleby kanid99Comment: I figured there would be a lot of this type of shot. First off, my first glance says the lighting is a little bright in the top left, and dark at bottom right. Framing is ok. DOF is ok. Composition opinion - This board is fairly dusty. That could've been used to your advantage if you went for an "older" technology shot. I think nothing short of clean and shiny would do well with a "cutting-edge" type shot. To go for the older shot, maybe a sepia or black and white and changing the title would be effective in changing viewer perspectives. B&W might solve the lighting prob's a little too. Hope that helps a little. - Inspzil |

Modern Day Rainbowby indigo997Comment: Well done. This strikes me in the more abstract side, but still meets the challenge well. Striking vivid colors are always a good thing. Nice job - Inspzil |

Sun Timeby sulamkComment: I like the subject a lot. I don't know what happened to the background here though, it looks like the hedges or bushes are half gone. - inspzil |

Boundby muckpondComment: There haven't been to many pictures this week with this kind of deep underlying theme. In fact, I can't think of any. With the soft focus, in B&W, it has a pretty deep message about our dependence on computers. Great shot - Inspzil |

luminousby falveyComment: This is almost great. I love the idea. I think the only thing that I would do different would be to add a second light source somewhere where it wouldn't reflect too bad off the bulb, but provide a little glare around the edges of the bulb to define and contrast it from the backdrop so we could more easily determine it's boundaries. - Inspzil |

Best thing since...by scottmattinglyComment: I'm assuming the technology part is the knife by default. I believe the subject of the picture should not be this cliche, without illustrating some kind of other technology. That's personal preference as much as anything. Good luck - Inspzil |

Sulphuretted Peroxide Strikablesby RoninComment: First thing I noticed about this picture was that the matchbok was cut off at top and bottom. The second thing I noticed was the cool blue colors. I'm not sure what the stuff in the background is. If it's removable I would've taken it out. I like the way the highlight of the flame looks on the cover of the matchbook. With minor improvements regarding background and framing, this could be a really cool shot. - Inspzil |
