Box of Eggsby KingLokComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
By Inspzil
Composition - The varying sizes and colors of eggs in this photo give it a little more creative variety. The smaller ones are definitely unique compared to most. Their arrangement in the box is good. I think that the framing could have been a little better to include more of the box and not concentrate on the eggs so much as the box. That might improve the framing. This picture isn't flat from a depth perception, but needs a little something to make it "dynamic" an you can make a still life. I'm not sure what happened to the one if front just left of center but that egg is a bit washed out so to speak. It may have just a little less pigment in it's shell.
Technical - Looks pretty sharp to me. The lighting is ok. I'd prefer a little more dramatic lighting to give the eggs some depth. I think the framing needs to be a panned back a little. If it is, I feel the background would have to change so it didn't get too busy. This photo is not badly taken, but could use a few adjustments.
Overall - Not a bad shot but not really a good one either. There really isn't to much to look at after first glance and seeing the sizes of the different eggs. It needs a few adjustments but is a good start to a pretty good photo. Good luck with future efforts. - Inspzil |

Ducks Under Bridgeby IzadoraComment: What is so bright on the bottom right corner of this page as to wash out a little? Would've like to have seen this from a little further back to capture a little more of the bridge and not concentrate so hard on the ducks. NIce color tones. |

bike laneby ymerComment: Excellent. I like lines and shapes and these are great. The pattern of the posts really sells me on this shot. Too bad that little rock is stuck in the middle of the road. Nice Find. Good luck |

Passing Over Historyby drydocComment: The only thing I'd like to see different about this picture is some blue in the sky. Very nice besides that. |

Concrete Cathedralsby decoteauComment: Could be much better if it were exposed more. There seems to be much detail lost in the darkness of this photo. |

Untitledby kellymcgComment: I like the overall tones of this picture. It is a little soft though especially in the branches. A difficult exposure with the snow and the dark pier in the middle of the river. You did a pretty good job of figuring out the right balance though. Nice shot. |

The Bridge at the end of my Stratby RoseytoneComment: Nice crisp clear photo. But I cannot score this photo very high. I'm a Gibson man myself so it would be unethical to do so. j/k! Nice image and good use of creative license for the bridge thing. This makes me fear seeing an oral appliance now for "bridge". Good Luck! |

Composition - Excellent composition. I think the idea of this challenge was to have the lines lead to the subject as opposed to the lines going away from the subject. Regardless of anyone's definition, this is a great image. The birds are framed in the picture very well. The picture overall is very well framed. The colors are super. Well done.
Technical - This photo is very very crisp and clear. The one little problem I think there is with this picture is that most of the birds have a small washed out part on their white feathers. It isn't anything major but I do believe it has some effect on the quality of the photo. Dropping the EV by a -0.3 would solve that. A very very well taken photo though.
Overall - Very deserving of the score. Well composed and executed. Great eye to capture this shot. Nice job. Good luck in future challenges. - Inspzil |

Lucky you, you drew me again
Composition - Firstly, this was one of my favorites of the challenge. Well conceived and executed very effectively. The lighting is super. The large crack with the glowing light sells this image. The colors are phenomenal. The contrast between the egg and the black background really makes it stand out. This is an exceptional image.
Technical - This image is exposed perfectly. The framing is good for this type of shot. The image is crisp and clear as it should be. Very well done.
Overall - You got ripped off on this challenge and I'll be the first in line to tell you that. This is one of the best images in the challenge in my opinion, hands down. Thanks for sharing it with us. This isn't much of a critique, but more of a pat on the back. I really can't find anything I don't like or even alternatives. Great shot. Keep taking them! - Bob |

#1 Keyby WILDBLUEComment: Interesting photo. I don't see how it applies to this challenge but I do like the arrangement of the keys. The photo totally makes me think of Alfred Hitchcock. I'm not sure if that's good or bad but it definitely sets a mood. I wish this photo was more relevant to the challenge though. |
