HOT HOT HOT. I think that really says it all. This needs to be taken like 2 or 3 stops down. Show some of the colors of the scene. Dreary doesn't equate to boring, but you really have to do it right to get the effect the voters are looking for.

This needs a little more dramatic lighting or something to give it a little spark, pardon the pun. Its not as clear as it should be either. I think actually having the fire in here and speeding up the shutter a bit would better represent this grate and fireplace.

The hot handrails on the bridge are totally distracting. Good theme to this picture, but I think its a little too dark and maybe a little oversharpened. Something just doesn't seem right here.

A little hot on the hand and the blue has gotten a little funky grain going on too. I also don't like the blue cast on the candy corns.

Thanks everyone for all the comments. This title was inspired by my son, who was just born Wednesday Feb. 11th. I knew it wouldn't really be understood by the voters, but one way or the other, I thought it was a pretty cute title and thought that no matter what my situation was, it would still fit the picture. I'm very surprised by the amount of comments I got on this picture. This was not the picture I wanted to take for this challenge, but I was unable to execute the photo that I really wanted to do. So I'll save the idea for the next applicable challenge. Thanks again all.

I'm not sure if this fits the challenge. I don't know, and quite frankly don't care. In terms of pictures, this is one of the top 3 in the challenge. Awesome portrait and I think this young lady should be very flattered with this portrait. I originally scored this 7, just bumped it to 8 and am kicking myself for not giving it a 9, which I will do momentarily. Great picture.
