five-lined skinkby fencekickerComment: Since you asked for comments, I'll try to say something helpful. I have not read the comments that have already been made so I may repeat things that have already been said.
I think it is a nice shot of the skink. I get a good sense of what the creature is like and I can almost feel him squirming around between the fingers. I think it would have been much better if you could have shown more of the skink. It would have been great if he could have been on top of or in front of the two fingers in the foreground.
The out-of-focus background is nice--it is certainly not distracting from the animal. But I don't think the bokeh is adding much either.
I wish I could see the original. I have a feeling that the bokeh in green might add a sense of natural plant environment that would enhance the image. I'm also not fond of the partial desaturation. There is just enough color to make me start wondering about the color of the skink. I think I would prefer it in black and white. It is also possible that you could just turn down the green channel to take care of the excess and yet leave the hand and skink looking reasonably natural.

Children at Playby vixenComment: I found these to be very expressive shadows. I can visualize the kids looking down at the ground an giggling as they play with their shadows. (8) |

Fun in theSunby Elvis_LComment: I thought this was really nice. The girl seems to be interacting both with the water and with her shadow. (8) |

Watching over my shoulderby lastefComment: I thought this was really cool. The shadow does have a bright eye which seems to be looking over his shoulder. I gave it a 9.

Poof!by pidgeComment: Pidge,
Also coming from the 1-4-0 thread,
I thought this was a wonderful burst of color and I gave it a 9. That is higher than my votes on any of the top ten in this challenge!
I'm afraid this is not very helpful because I have no clue about why it scored so low.

Me and my boatby parrotheadComment: There are aspects of this that intrigue me. I've spent some time looking at it and unfortunately I can't make it fit my conceptualization of the challenge. |

Jasmineby PhotoTessComment: I like this pose. She is sitting there under the spotlight looking up at whoever is looking down at her.
I'm not a fan of selective desat; I find the red drape distracting.
Finally, I don't see much of the room. If I were selecting photos for a "objects in empty rooms" show, this is not one I would pick. |

Cannon Coverby MelethiaComment: I assume that you spelled it Cannon deliberately to suggest what it is hiding. Very clever. (Shots of woodies usually get very low ratings from me but somehow they seem much more appropriate for this challenge.) |
