Love the contrast & colors. And I really like the 3D feel of the image with the blurred background. The only thing I don't really like on this one is the blurred petals in the foreground and a couple of hot spots. Otherwise, I think this would have scored very highly. As is, I probably would have given it a 5-6.

LOVE the muted colors - really adds definition and contrast to the already good DOF. Weird looking spider - don't think I've encountered that one before (thank goodness!). ;-)

I really like the composition of the shot, but I think the B/W actually detracts from the detail you might see in color (or muted colors). I think this would probably also help the white background/white foreground too. Just my 2 cents... :-)

Good DOF on head and parts of wings, but blurriness on most of wings would have really detracted from the score IMHO. Also, it's a little washed out w/white background - might try reducing some of the backlighting and increassing contrast.

Nice shot. This looks like an early spring time frame and I would definitely go back and do this same shot in the fall. I agree about trying to somehow add a bit of richness to the colors...maybe a little darkening, a little saturation or contrast. I also think it could use a bit of softening. I'm a bad one to tell whether or not sharpening has been used, but I think I'd like to see this a little dreamier. All in all, very nice composition and location.

I really like the composition of this shot. I think this would also look good (maybe even better) in B&W or maybe a quadtone.

Riggs:
What a wonderful old country road. The fence line shadow really adds to the photograph, and it it has very warm colors.
I really love the narrowness of the road....gives it a back woods feel.
Great shot.

PollyBean:
This is very nice, like something out of a painting. I like the way the road leads the eye into the shot. If you like watercolour paintings, there is a cool effect that might be interesting to try with this photo. Go to noise removal tool called 'median' and set it to something like 3 or 5 and see what you think!

ShutterPug:
I love the country side, and photos of such.
This is beautifully composed....makes me want to take a stroll down this road. The patch of sky in the upper right corner is washed out...would have liked to see some blue added to it. The trees maybe need more shadows, or richness added to their colors.

Jinjit:
wow how beautiful!
Reminds me of a painting at my parents house.
The light it amazing, the colors and contrast are just perfect.

Fantastic shot! Love the sepia tones and the winding road - really makes it more desolate. (Is that one of your kids?) Really a tremendous image! Nice work!
