Darn - was sure that blue overtones subduing all hints of white would be a deal-breaker. It's probably a sure bet that this one will receive high praise and numbers. I stuck to my lights and writes.

The bits of ice crystals, the shadow -which almost looks as though the stem made its way slowly through the powdery landscape, and the utter simplicity of this one is wonderful. Don't cut, don't crop, don't mess with it.

Sequential downloading is a spot reducer for my votes. I watch eagerly as an image slowly unfolds itself to me. Near perfection - a 9 or a 10? Then something annoying appears, which jars the soul - no more 9 or 10! In this case, I would crop away the entire bottom quarter. Losing the lowest petal makes this image more powerful.

As this photo downloaded from top to bottom, I realized that it ended up being too weighted on the stylus end. Cropping about an inch (leaving some red) from the bottom would have helped. Darn - it's terrific composition, with every word legible. Even so, leaving it at my original 6.
