Fresh Pickedby bongoComment: A very strong photo; good composition, nice texture and lighting. I wish the shadows on the pears did not so quickly fade to black, even understandint that this was done on purpose to remove the surface on which they sat. |

Drill Masterby graphicfunkComment: I'm a little grossed out by the froth on the tongue and by the wierdness of its shape, texture and color. Somehow, despite the prominence and sharp focus on the eyes and tools, the tongue upstages them all, And that, for me, ruins a potentially very good photo. Just my reaction. |

Water Bottleby remarshComment: Not fond of the color. It think the cap could benefit from stronger fill lighting from about 45-60 deg from the viewing angle. I find the composiion to be a little static. |

Playground Spiralsby SirBiggsALotComment: I love the spiral and the fact that it's set at an angle across the photo. I find the cerise colored whatsit in the background to dominate even though it is out of focus. |

many linesby speaseComment: I like the red fence. But the rest of the photo does nothing for me. |

Schnack Pointby stormyComment: I love the location and the composition. The strong blacks and whites are interesting, but the usual look for b&w's is to have some detail in both highlight and shadow. Unfortunately, shooting into the sun at black rocks with almost any digital camera will produce similar results. At the risk of mentioning things already widely known, are several options to avoid this. 1) Use a tripod, bracket +/- two or three stops, then in Photoshop combine the results 2) Buy an expensive FujiFilm S3Pro which has the dynamic range of film and bracket or 3) use film and also bracket.

First Impressionby JeanComment: This really is quite and extraordinary shot. I love the colors and the layers of space: the layer under the fluid, the fluid, the floating fluid, and the reflected image. It's like four parallel worlds. |
