I love the location and the composition. The strong blacks and whites are interesting, but the usual look for b&w's is to have some detail in both highlight and shadow. Unfortunately, shooting into the sun at black rocks with almost any digital camera will produce similar results. At the risk of mentioning things already widely known, are several options to avoid this. 1) Use a tripod, bracket +/- two or three stops, then in Photoshop combine the results 2) Buy an expensive FujiFilm S3Pro which has the dynamic range of film and bracket or 3) use film and also bracket.
