The expression on the dog's face is wonderful. The lighting is flat.The toy he's playing with is simply the wrong color for the photo. Finally, the positioning of the dog in line with the axis of the camera is a bit static.

It's a really cute pose. I like the watering can. Unfortunately I find the edge of the sidewalk and the edge of the pipe distracting. And the blown highlights in the hair and side of the face of the subject really detract from the photo.

It's a really lovely photo and it is lovely art. Since I do not have graphic design background I find myself less enamored of photos with vast white spaces. And my curiosity is aroused about whether it has crossed the threshold from photo to digital art when over 15% of the area of the 'photo' is art. This is certainly one of the more impactful images in this challenge, yet I would have strong reservations about asserting it is the best photo.

It certainly is. Except the models are frequently more careful to cover blemishes or their photographers to clone them out.

I like the out of focus background and the sepia treatment. I guess this is a quibble, but if it is a 'White Tailed Deer" why do we not see the tail? I love the branches above, they frame the deer nicely. The stubble in front is distracting.

I love the compositon and the lighting. The detail is exquisite. It's a quibble, but I find those looming empty nostrils a little disturbing, though I can't think of a good solution to the problem.
