1966: Year of the Electric Miter Sawby hstegComment: I think this is among the better miter saw photos I've ever seen. I like the black background and the faming of the subject. I like the details in the surface of the saw. I do not, however, understand the connection with the challenge. |

1916 - The Age Of Steamby TheresaAComment: The age of steam and transformers. I find the subject to be very photogenic. And I like the way the lines lead the eye across the photo. The palm trees add interest and so does the platform. Those curious standards on the sidewalk I find distracting. And I wish, somehow, that I could see some of the details in the dark black shadowy areas - though I do understand why this was simply impossible. |

1955by rexComment: I am in awe of this photo. Not only is the subject matter smack dab on, but the treatment of it emulates the style of the day perfectly: the graininess, the static treatment of the subject, the arttificial distance caused by using a short focal lenghth cheep lens, and so on. Truly inspired. |

Colonial Water Park (est. 1820's)by JayWalkComment: Nice Hat. Composition is strong - especially the use of negative space. I like the choice to go with color even thought the temptation would be sepia. Curious about the reason for not using a blur layer to make the highlights glow a little (or is this just and overused cliche?) |

1977by Bear_MusicComment: Perhaps if they had you taking photos of your camera, we would see more of these today. Nice shot. |

1939by MozartMoonComment: The wood of the desk and clarinet are beautiful. And the lighting, for the most part works well. The whiteness of the music pages is too strong (we expect paper just twenty years old to be yellow - and even if that's the wrong expectation, the whiteness still overpowers. IMO.) Despite an obvious effort to avoid it, there is a static feel to the composition. |

"1967"by sfarrell23Comment: Nice color palette. Nice, perspective. The dull and rainy weather suits the photo perfectly. I would, however, really like to see some details under the car and in the wheel well. Not sure how to do this without compromising the richness of the earthtones that make the photo otherwise good. |
