This photograph details my grandfather's clarinet. He had this clarinet during the Great Depression of 1939. I chose it to be black & white and then darkened the photograph to show the significance of Black Tuesday.

Benny Goodman would be proud. Nice warm tones.

FInally! Someone who followed directions, used the year for the title and submitted a GOOD photo. You deserve a 10!

Just by looking at this photo I can here "In the Mood" by Glen Miller. Very good take on the challenge.

The mouthpiece is rotated 180 degress or so from where it should be. The reed goes on the bottom. Also, that music doesn't look like clarinet music to me. Piano exercise pieces, perhaps? Other than that, not a bad image. 6

The wood of the desk and clarinet are beautiful. And the lighting, for the most part works well. The whiteness of the music pages is too strong (we expect paper just twenty years old to be yellow - and even if that's the wrong expectation, the whiteness still overpowers. IMO.) Despite an obvious effort to avoid it, there is a static feel to the composition.

Why 1939? Is that a clarinet tab for a Benny Goodman song? I'm not getting a good sense of time here.
