NJ Transitby bhoundComment: I like the motion. I like the rusted beam and the protruding ties. Just about everything in the photo is ugly. If the theme were "America The Beautiful / America The Ugly" It would get plenty of points for content and meeting the theme. The brush detracts, so do the wires, tree, and structure. |

The Old Rail Trestleby DrakeComment: Can't quite understand why, but this doesn't do it for me. I think it looks too cluttered for the rhythmic elements to be clearly comprehended. The lighting hurts the photo in so many ways. I understand that it's not an element in the photographer's control, but I imagine the bridge could look much better in diffuse light of a cloudy day or when the sun is just below the horizon. |

"under the bridge"by piticuComment: Wow, I'm reminded how photogenic riveted structural iron can be. The exposure is perfect. The lines are strong, the rhyth effective, the vanishing point perfectly placed. Very Nice. |

bridge over the winterby yomanComment: I like the form of the bridge. I also like the colors of the yellow and red winter wear against the white ice and gray concrete. And I get that this is two bridges: one physical and one metaphorical. But I think that visually the photo would be stronger if it were just the bridge without people or train. Alternatively I think it would be stronger if it were just about the people set against the background of the concrete bridge pier. |

Bethany Bridgeby rexComment: Very interesting color - bridge and concret piers. Great lighting. I like the green reflection of the bridge in the water. The sky adds nothing. Also, I dislike it when strong background lines coincide with major lines in the subject - see where the mountain dips to touch the bridge. |

Foss Bridgeby mdelaplaneComment: The bridge is a good choice; it's structure is very photogenic. I find everything in the left third of the photo to be extraeneous, the floating stuff to be distracting, and the sky to be too big. and uninteresting. |

Path of Light...by blurredvisionComment: The reflection in the water is exquisite. Love the repeating elements on the bridge. And the blue of the sky is just right. |
