Rear window.by PixelstateComment: This is an excellent photograph. I like it in b&w, also. The positioning of the little girl in the window and her expression are excellent...good detail ; has a timeless quality...9 |

I Am My Work -- the Thorn that Weeps, & Holds the Sky Entire...by Bear_MusicComment: I don't know if you'll see this comment, but I just read the above comment concerning your self portrait, and for some reason I read it today.. a heck of long time afterward..but your words moved me to say that I agree with you..because I have experimented a lot with photographs and also perhaps because I paint, the urge to try different types of photos appeals to me...a lot of diversity from the norm is difficult here...people do not seem to see photographs as art in many cases; I like to use soft photos many times but I have been marked down harshly for use of soft images or unusual images, but it doesn't bother me, I pursue my own vision anyway..as you must pursue yours, but I am open minded about all forms of art...the photo you entered was indeed beautiful but perhaps people just aren't ready to see our minds, only our faces. |

Gary L. Stevensby coolharComment: this is an excellent photograph...his expression of disappointment is caught well, the mud on his clothes and goggles tells the story, as does the muddy track. |

sandby dragonladyComment: Thanks for all the votes 5 and above..I genuinely thought this was a powerful shot, especially in the rotated position, since I tried it in all directions and even tried it cropped more, but this is still my favorite angle; I agree with Minstrel, it speaks to me, too. On some level it causes an emotion in me, and that's all that really matters: that it touched me and a few other people.. Message edited by author 2005-06-02 18:33:21. |

Foregone Right of Wayby pcarpiComment: Best shot in the challenge..especially since I grew up sailing and know that even though the sailboat has the right of way, you don't enforce it against a large ship...the tonal quality, the positioning of the ships and the eerie, misty quality is excellent-provides a lot of mood; I like that the sky and sea mirror the same quality of color at top and bottom of frame. |
