Rome, boring? I loved it! If she'd turn around and look at that gorgeos cityscape behind her, she might not be so bored.
One thing I see about this photograph is the fact that she's slooking off the the edge of the frame, which draws the viewr's eyes off the frame, also. If she were looking to the left, our eyes would stay in the frame and looking at the picture longer.

Beautiful. I hope you save this picture for your records. However, I really didn't see the connection to the theme.

A bit dark and out-of-focus, but posed well.

Hey, is that the front end of a 1992 Toyota Tercel there on the right end of the frame? I can tell by the way the tire is sitting there must be a suction bird perch attached to the driver's side window, and a big mess of newspapers coverd with parrot dooey all over the floor of the passenger side. From the angle that this picture was shot, I can tell that you have parrot dooey on the bottom of your shoes, which means you must have been riding in the passenger seat of that Tercel. Am I right?
I love how the male and female mallards are lined up accordingly, just like in elementry school, on the lower-right quadrant of the picture.
I have the feeling that those geese over by the Tercel are about to get angry and hiss at some crazed photographer trying to take macros of their primary flight feathers.
Duck, duck, GOOSE!

The skin tone is kinda overexposed. A tip I was told: When the main element in a picture is a person (or people), always develop the picture (or adjust, with digital stuff) for the skin tone, and the rest will look fine. PErhaps even if you had diffused the light a bit a wouldn't have looked so harsh on her skin.

They say that pets and owners start to look alike after awhile, I never believe dit until now. I just hope I don't look like my parrot (then again, he's green, I have olive skin, he ha a rather large beak, and I've heard that my nose is a little on the big side...uh-oh). Anyway, your photo really made me smile. Very cute.

The picture as done in the link is much better. I don't dislike the first, but I must agree that it's out of focus and the sky was detractive (it took me a second to figure out what that grey thing was). The idea, bringing out detail, contrast, and texure, was very Ansel Adams, and I would have allowed a few points for that, and a few because I overall like the picture, minus the obvious flaws. I probably would have marked you a four on the first, and a seven on the second.
I'm surprised at so many 1s and 2s. I always reserved those for shots that make me say to myself, "Now what in the dickens was that photographer THINKING when hitting the shutter on this one?" This includes irrepairably technically horrendous stuff, 'what the heck does that have to do with anything' subjects (not simply 'well, it's a strech, but I see it'), or any other things that make 'One One One' or 'Two Two Two' flash in my head. Yours didn't. I could clearly see your aim, what you were thinking, and I feel it hit the theme right on the nose. Yes, there were some major technical flaws, and points needed subtracted for that, but was it a terrible picture? No. Brown Ribbon? I wouldn't have thought so.
