The penciling is difficult to read past the frowning face. Looks like your flash or whatever light source you were using could have benefited from using a soft box or other material to even out the light thrown onto the paper. The hotspot in the upper left is just washing too much detail out.

I think this image has "the makings" bu I would like to see the tonal ranges of the waves pushed further into the shadow range. They seem a little to light to me. From looking at the remains of the pier, that may not have been possible to do within the rules and still keep the piers from clipping at the bottom range of the tonal spectrum, which is unfortunate.

heh. Nice title. I think that's a scratch to the right of the pi sign which kind of works against the otherwise nice illusion you created.

Very cool idea. I think the flag in the background is a good touch but would be interested to see more of the blue field as a means to contrast the two colors and add a nice tension to the piece.
