This picture has a shallow depth of field, but no bokeh. The out of focus background doesnt enhance your subject in any way. Also the post itself looks a little grainy with quite a bit of noise. Best part about the picture is the lighting....probably taken in the late afternoon sun. Nice job.

Stiff Shot?

Your bokeh in this image is rather nice. The problem lies with your subject. If your focal point is the shotglass, then you should have composed it so that it wasn't dead center in your shot. If the focal point was meant to be the bottle, then you should have moved the vodka bottle further back (as to not be distracting) and probably done something else with the shot glasses cause they draw the attention away from the bottle. The background is nice....not distracting.

DOF isnt shallow enough here. If you had gotten closer to the shell and maybe had the bright sand in the background be your bokeh, it could have worked better.

Your bokeh is there but it doesn't necessarily enhance or emphasize your subject, it distracts me from it. Your idea is good, but the background probably should have been further from the camera to make this work to its full potential.

If the things in your background were close they would have come in a little better as true bokeh, but the effect simply isnt there in this picture. Nice clear focus on your subject....but the background is missing information.
