Backwater Commuter by FalcComment: Congratulations! This should be on the cover of a travel book. It's a beautiful shot and first place is exactly where this should be. |

Still My Favorite Mountains by dsidwellComment: Ah, David, congratulations. There were nearly 500 entries and look at you! This is a wonderful b&w of "your" mountains. Add me to the list of those who will never tire of your pictures of these, please. The way you portray them, with all that gorgeous light, makes me a tiny bit jealous not only of where you live, but also of your great skill. Congratulations on the ribbon in a very tough challenge! |

Zahara Playsby SandyPComment: She's really pretty. I love the way you captured her mid-turn, where she's probably showing off for you :-) |

IMG_1280by RevoltComment: Hey, that's the Sun Yat-sen memorial with Taipei 101 in the background! I'm so excited to see a picture of somewhere I just visited for the first time ever a couple of months ago. This is a lovely capture. Hard to get the exposure right with all those shadows and bright sky, but you did it! |

Speleothemby lectrolComment: I'm not sure about this one - it's a wonderful image and the parts to the right of the green are beautiful. The green part distracts from the rest for me, though. I wonder how it would work with a much tighter crop, so it's landscape instead of portrait orientation? To be honest, I really think I'd like this best if it were not in "centered composition" style. I think it's a fantastic image for rule of thirds use. |

Doubling Upby BrownEyesComment: This is a gorgeous still life. I like the tones and the unusualness of duotone, rather than full color, fruit portrait. The tones make the bananas really pop. |
