The Smokerby pjd101Comment: Wow... if the title didn't say "smoker," I would have had a really hard time figuring out what was going on here. He's almost completely lost in the background. |

Fascinoby fotofanComment: Very pretty girl! I like the wind-blown hair thing. |

Portrait of a manby IraklisComment: I'm not sure about the soft focus here. I would have preferred him to be tack sharp, personally. Interesting character study, though. |

"Can't wait for Spring"by pjotre7Comment: The lighting seems a bit harsh on this one. So many of the petals are just a bit overblown. On a sunny day like this (assuming that's from sunshine), you might hang a sheet in such a way that it softens the light on the flowers. Or shoot them on a day where it's slightly overcast. |

Tee-Ball fun!by chazoeComment: Probably a bit too snapshot-ish for a "best of" challenge. It's certainly a cute shot for a family album, but artistically it seems a little lacking. In particular, he's out of focus and probably should have had a bit more fill lighting on his face. |

Tranquilityby darynComment: I like this, but it feels like there's way too much of the foreground water in here. That would have been ok if there had been some cool rocks to add more visual interest, but there are just kinda boring pebbles there. It also feels like it should be rotated slightly clockwise, but just a couple degrees. I probably would have cropped this as a horizontal shot, ending the water where the reflection stops. |

Scarfaceby CorySmithComment: Very, very cool stuff. I suspect I know who took this, because I've admired similar shots in the past. I'm not sure I'd have the kahonas (sp?) to be hanging out by that opening :) |

NYC Meet And Greetby bvyComment: This shot strikes me as being kinda random, with a bit too much going on. What is the subject? Is it the girl? Or Abraham Lincoln with the bike? The two women seem to be stuck in there for no reason, and we've got the van driving by. The scene just seems a bit too haphazard for me. I think I would have tried to capture just one of these elements. For me, the most interesting thing would have been to get a nice, tight and candid shot of Abe and his bike. |
