I sort of like this but... Though I think the angle of this photo is centred around the f shaped hole (I have no idea what those are called) I find the slight angle of the wood grain distracting. If it was at a steeper angle it would work but this is too close to the vertical and throws me when I look at it.

I love the overly yellow tones and the angle and composition. Works much better than it would have done had you included the whole violin. The patina of the wood and all the wear and tear comes through wonderfully. This is the kind of thing I'd buy on a postcard.

I do really like this, and have therefore marked it high. But the overall tone is a little too dark for me. If you look at the image at a smaller size, all you can see is a brown smear. Whilst the challenge doesn't suggest that the photo works at a smaller size too, it's something I couldn't help but notice. I know this sounds foolish but the texture of the chain reminds me of jerk dried salami type stuff. :)

I like the tight cropping and the sheen to the stone which has come through in the photo. Though I like the way the pattern breaks and we see some straight lines at the right, I think you could lose a tiny bit from the right to improve the composition.
