Atmospheric and the darkness portrays that feeling at campfires, when the scary stories are being shared, and the fire represents safety from the uknown terrors in the darkness. A little too grainy and soft focus for my tastes.

Striking shapes. Probably more appealing to someone with a religious connection to them, but maybe not. Because the crosses are in such dark shadow, I can't see the detail. For this reason, in my interpretation I am seeing the crosses as the negative space, visually, and the sky as the foreground. Either way I'd like to see more detail in the sky/ clouds to give more contrast to the blackness of the crosses.

I like the way the highlights define the shape rather than any actual detail in the nude herself. However with such low light, I find the head area and the hair a little confusing and not as clean and smooth as the rest.

The deep blackness surrounding the light and the way it only illuminates it's own base and the area directly below it makes this quite an atmospheric shot.
Personally I'd like the extra space to be at the right rather than left of the frame, and I am not sure I like the very yellow colour tone, this coming from someone whose favourite colour is yellow. I also find the refleftions in the base distracting, I am trying to work out what they are - that draws me away from the object itself.
I realise this may be deliberate.

Great shapes and very striking. In terms of the title and it's link to No Man's Land (that's what the title reminds me of anyway) - because the light is so bright it feels too light and airy to convey the negativity of that historic place, or just general menace.

I like the stark coldness of this BW. I don't find the composition with the statue positioned so low and to the left adds anything for me, I'd probably prefer it further into the frame, though there is an element of his arms being open to the darkness.
