Very much the right style for the magazine. I think this is an excellent image in many ways. Great eye contact and wonderful emotional connection with the subjects.
Feels cropped a little too tight at the bottom - I'd like to see all of her arm/ hand in the shot.
The strong highlight on her nose is also a little distracting.

Superbly lit. Excellent composition and good choice of background. Not my cup of tea but scores an 8. I can visualise this on a cover. If you have local women's magazines or weekly ones, recommend submitting this as a "reader on the cover" feature.

Wonderful image - well lit and I like the catchlight (is that the word I'm looking for?) in the eye. Doesn't quite feel like a balanced composition. Metal object in bottom right foreground distracts from clean "background". 8

Such a lovely capture and great DOF. Composition just superb, especially for a magazine cover, with title text. Image itself seems very grainy and I think the lighting on the bird could do with being a little more even. 9

Great colours and reasonably interesting content. However what makes it more appealing for me is the shape of the water itself - I can really see the swell and movement of the water. 8
