Honey Aromaby cosmofireComment: This is a tough one. I like the composition and the inclusion of the insect to give a focal point.
The image falls down for me because the honey itself looks too messy and hence, somewhat unappealing. That seems to interfere with my imagining the scent. I think this is where we can really see how manipulated magazine shoots of food items are - they might sift through bottles and bottles of honey and trays and trays of honeycomb pieces in order to find a neat and complete comb and honey of just the right colour.
That perfection of presentation is what (for me) helps make the item look appealing and also allows my imagination to get going on the other senses such as smell. |

onions on the grillby coolharComment: I guess I can imagine the smell without too much trouble but the image itself lacks punch/ interest. It doesn't (for me) stand alone as an interesting image. Focus also seems a little soft. |

When She's Not Hereby TooCoolComment: Quite an intriguing image, and with the title to give guidance, tells a simple story in itself. I am sure many of us understand how certain smells can remind us of certain people, and have used that to feel closer to loved ones when separated from them. |

Morning Coffee by ArtifactsComment: Some of the shapes in the steam are lovely - I particularly like that little circular spiral towards the top left. Certainly conveys the smell of coffee to me. I like the choice of blue background. |

Good Morning!by TrinchComment: I like the full frame composition and the positioning of the cup handles. The cups themselves don't really work for me - the designs are so at odds with the elegance of the Krups coffee machine - it's a bit jarring. Then again maybe that's what you were aiming for. I'd like to see something similar with more elegant and modern cups, perhaps glass, metal or such. |

Ariel #6 (duotone)by GeneralEComment: What an unusual and fascinating image! Much more interesting than many standard baby pics, I particularly like the way the foreground objects really place Ariel in his/ her environment. |

GUESS What I Found?by GeneralEComment: A lovely minimalist photo with a superbly balanced composition. The simplicity is a very strong tool. |

Splash! by arnitComment: The motion of the water is beautifully captured and the long snaking curve of it makes for quite a dynamic composition. Poor soul! |

"Will you marry me?"by jonpinkComment: Curiously harsh treatment of the image (high contrast, hard black tones) considering the nature of the event but I do like it. |
