Feeding The Sensesby ToddhComment: Great use of high grain - was it deliberate? I like it, regardless.
Love the tight crop - it's often said one should include the subject's eyes but this crop just works so well without them. |

I'd recommend looking at this image (//www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=24140) for an idea of how lighting can improve the sense of warmth of the image. Also, the cigar actually touching the edge of the frame as it does seems a bit too harsh. |

Shortbreadby JonathanWatersComment: Fantastic use of low DOF. Would love to see this in colour, as can't decide whether or not I like the choice for b/w. In purely image terms, I do but in terms of conveying smell, I am not so sure. |

Mmmm....Popcornby CraigDComment: Microwave seems a touch tilted but other than that, the composition is great - I like the space left around the top edge and the wide expanse of work surface, exaggerated by the low viewpoint. |

Hot Java in the Morningby lilnukeeComment: I like the framing and low viewpoint and the inclusion of the winter treescape behind. Very strong, very artistic. I can't see any of the actual coffee, or steam, which makes it harder to get a sense of smell. But I think this image is excellent. |
