New York New York Casino, Las Vegas NVby JoelHSmithComment: The lighting is kind of off. I think this shot could've been GREAT at sunset when there is some a little natural light, but the lights are on! The 2 pink signs are blown out... my attention goes right there... not good! |

Broad Streetby banmornComment: I love the contrast between the light in the forground and the clock tower in the back, but there is a little too much yellow in this shot (aside from the clock tower). |

Mystic Pizzaby TooCoolComment: Very funny! I had to look at it a second time to get the Mystic part of it! I didn't see the guy "lifting" the pizza on the bottom left! Once I did, I appreciated it much more :) |

Reflectionby mpalitangComment: Originally posted by glad2badad: The glass on the left is a bit distracting - seems a bit blown out on the glare/highlights. I'm glad you choose two different colored glasses instead of just one, that was a nice touch. Seeing some spots on the table, are they reflections from the ceiling? |
The spots on the table are scratches on the glass table (it's an OLD table). Since this was a Basic Editing Challenge, I thought it best not to mess with the imperfections and play it safe. |

It was the result of masking the mother's knee out without accounting for brighter monitor settings. I've replaced the photo with a better version now, and it should be invisible. Thanks for the compliment on the shot too! |
This is much better :) Can you come over and photograph MY daughter now :) j/k! |

Late afternoon coffeeby helgihelgiComment: Originally posted by helgihelgi: Thanks for the comments people, really appreciated.
And regarding the comment that it was too dark for a late afternoon: I agree, and perhaps 'a late night coffee' would've been more appropriate, but this is actually taken at around 4 PM if I recall correctly. This time of year in Iceland the sun rises between noon and 1PM, and goes back down at around 4 PM. It's pretty surreal, and I suspect magnus can vouch for this ;) |
I guess for those of us closer to the equator, we expect 4PM to be bright and sunny! I didn't see it as too dark for Late afternoon, My comment on too dark was just stated as hard to see! It is a really good photo though :) |
