With what could be considered a rather boring subject more thought has to be put into creating a special image. This is I suppose the easy approach. In order to score high you need to give more thought to the background, angle of shot, looking for action or a unique positioning of birds. By doing this your image will stand out from the crowd.

The lighting and muted colours make this image special. I'm not sure about the positioning of the trees but the rest of the image makes up for this imperfection.
