Heliophileby bicrayComment: Deserved so much more, Ramon. Alas, too many conventional thinkers (actually, too many who don't appear to think at all). Nevertheless, you did improve your challenge record a bit, which was probably of little consequence to you. And you taught a few a lovely new word. But more to the point, you surely achieved your goal vis-a-vis personality, as the many appreciative comments below attest. Thanks to both of you. Bravo! Pays du Fromageby krystofaComment: Finally! An image with some thought behind it. Such a clever idea and such a welcome relief! 9 |

dangerous curvesby DrJOnesComment: A technically masterful but alas conceptually cheesy nude study. Fabulous lighting and really superb photography in every respect but one; I just can't get past that bad taste factor. 7 |

Knockby puzzledComment: This is my favourite of your first round of shots with the new EOS-20D, mainly because I'm nuts about mono & duotone B&W's at the moment. It's a beautiful old knocker (presumably it really IS old?) I like the fine detail of the metal and in the wood grain. The composition is simple but very good. Maybe the black point could be adjusted up a bit to strengthen the black end of the tonal range, or perhaps just try a tiny bit more contrast? Anyway, the quality of the new camera is evident in this and the other new images. Let's see some more! |

Sunshine Kissedby jseyerleComment: A very fine image. I admire how you were able to achieve such an elegant yet casual pose; it hints at classical statuary, but the door provides a nice contrasting feeling of informality. Awesome lighting; I think it's all natural light, but if so there's some cleverly reflected light creating a subtle fill effect that's exactly right. The model's shadow on the door also works especially well. It's my top choice ... 10 |

Myself.by TranquilComment: Terrific composition and cropping! Makes an interesting and original image, if a little disjointed or fractured (which was clearly part of your intention). Right hand is wonderful, spread on the chest. The left wrist & hand are not clearly defined, and I think are therefore slightly confusing. But a good, original idea. 7 |

Jane Doeby NazgulComment: It's well done. Unusual decision to light from the left, thus leaving the closer side of the model in silhouette; I think that makes the legs appear a little awkward rather than graceful. Obviously your intent was to emphasise the torso, so maybe that explains it? Nevertheless, a fine image. 7 |
