The Arctic foxby otto22Comment: Until having my curiosity stimulated by this photograph, I didn't know that Arctic foxes exchange white fur for brown after winter. That's the test of any photograph's merit for me: does it stimulate curiosity, interest and imagination? Yours passes the test. Plus as a bonus it's an attractive, competent photograph. Thank you. |

Willow Browserby hahn23Comment: Surely the moose is the world's dopiest-looking creature? But I probably misjudge them; they are probably clever and agile and climb up and down pine trees with ease. This might be the nicest portrait of a moose that I've seen, with the animal nicely contrasted against the brush. It's quite flattering! Thank you. |

Grazingby RKTComment: Very nice. Lovely colours, effective composition, perfectly well-judged focus & depth of field. You don't need any advice from the likes of me. Thank you. |

Early Morningby GeorgesBogaertComment: Very clean picture of a nice heron (It is a heron, isn't it? Which one?) I think you have judged the depth of field, the extent of background blur, perfectly. There's enough information left back there for environmental context, but it's unobtrusive enough to still throw the spotlight onto the subject. It's a very competent wildlife portrait. Thank you. |

Female European Red Squirrel by SaraRComment: Clear, crisp and a little bit of a caricature due to the lack of much environmental context. I'd have preferred a bit less squirrel and a bit more environment. But who cares what I'd have preferred; it's not my picture, it's yours, and it's undeniably a very competent one. One big advantage of it being framed so closely is that I can more clearly see the irresistible resemblance to an American football lineman getting into a 3-point stance for the snap. So, that's an unexpected bonus! I was wrong & you were right. Thank you. |

The Great Egret!by JudiComment: Great tones too! Love that beautiful, rich caramel background which contrasts perfectly with the luminous white of the egret. Also love the diffused reflection of the egret's presence. Really very nice. Thank you. |

Raffaby the_rkpComment: Raffa the Giraffa: took me a while to get it, alas. It's a very nice giraffe picture; I've taken hundreds myself and never tire of it, nor of looking at giraffe photographs generally. They are the supermodels of the bush; always posing and looking elegant. One terrific bonus element of this picture to delight we serious giraffe artists is that the small foreground tree echoes the aspect of the giraffe's body. And that makes the picture much better for having the tree there ΓΆ€“ at least it does for me. Thank you. |

Vantage Pointby glad2badadComment: It's not a processing treatment I enjoy, but the composition is perfect. And the bird is a charmingly jaunty wee thing. Thank you. |

Three Course Meal by JakeKurdsjukComment: Very clean, crisp and unequivocal. You can even see the mower scars on the grass blades. That's a remarkably sanguine wild rabbit to allow you to stalk it so closely. Anyway, wild or not it's a very competent photograph. Thank you. |
