Lilac-hued memories. Such a beautiful sentiment: the figurative fondly masquerading as the literal. It's beautiful. So is the photograph. Thank you.

Loving that great swipe of dark/light, giving the scene such dynamism. It tricks me into seeing actual movement from the two guys on the digger, and from the machine itself. The trucks rear lights, however, are the best bit of all. I think of some kind of machine in a sci-fi movie about mining a remote planet.
Thank you.

There seems to be no kind of photography that you can't do well! I rarely care at all for landscapes, but I know a good one when I see it, and this one is meticulously ordered. It's a very satisfying photograph, even for a bloke who isn't a landscape fan. And the square frame, which I assume isn't all that common in landscapes, has not been forced upon it: it feels like the square was an inevitable choice here. Thank you.

This is literally wonderful because of that transformative property that Don referred to. The grain, the tones, the point of view and the other stuff (all of the other stuff) make Skye into something else. What I see is an older stage actress: the artfully blowsy coiffure, the magnificent aquiline nose, the disdainful regal gaze. Her best roles may be behind her, but she still commands any room. Thank you.

It's always absorbing to me, when reflecting on a bare-bones image like this. Without context and other guidance from the author, the beholder has only two options. (1) "This is boring" and move on, or (2) "What is this? What could it mean to the author? What does it mean to me?" and many more questions of a fanciful and philosophical nature. I am firmly in the (2) camp, as evidenced by my motto that "Curiosity is the most important thing in art". It's a sentiment that applies equally to authors of art, and beholders of art.

You and me; just a pair of deuces! Thank you.

I wasn't on foot. It's the buffalo that has half a mind, not me. I was in a 4x4, engine idling.

Hey Lev, sorry I didn't make any comments in-challenge, but if I had I'd have spoken very enthusiastically about this. I've tried a million times (well, perhaps not quite that many) to get a really good rain photograph. Never got much to write home about. Had I taken this, I'd have written home immediately. It's just what I had always hoped for and never managed, not even close. It's perfect. Thank you!

All this wonderful enigma, so absorbing, puzzling, thrilling. It's beautiful. It's teetering on the far edge on my comprehension. Perfect. Thank you.
