eunuch-isms by UrfaKComment: very interesting scene, and I understand that you wanted to call our attention to these "drag queens of the East," but I honestly don't think selective desat was the right decision (it very rarely is, IMO). The whole scene becomes fake, and the background becomes a theatre stage set of sorts. I think you should have left it in color and trust the viewer to find out what the scene is about. Let your subjects be immersed in the street life, don't yank them out! Or, if you really want them to stand out, make the rest of the scene slightly less saturated, but only barely so. Of course this is only my opinion, you should do what you like :). |
